Galentine's Day Party with Lolita

For those of you who aren’t aware of this truly awesome day, superwoman Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation coined Galentine’s Day, which takes place on February 13. Basically, it's like Valentine's Day, only instead of celebrating the love you have for your significant other, you spend it with your best girlfriends, who are after all your soul mates, and therefore deserve a holiday all to themselves, too.

The best part about Galentine's Day is that friendship is the theme of the day, so as long as you have your BFFs around you, you're doing it right.

Decor

Start with thinking about adding fun floral arrangements to your space. Picking bright colors or Make sure your party has details that hold relevance for you and your friends- think about thoughtful accents but don’t go overboard. Brighten up the space with cheerful reds and pinks of a traditional Valentine’s Day but don’t hesitate to step outside the box with neutral colors or metallic accents. Create a space that is comfortable for guests and will promote good conversation and endless laughs!

Oh, and add candles! Not only can you find awesome candlestick holders that will jazz up any table, the warm light is always a wonderful touch.

Food

Don’t put all the pressure on yourself to create a delicious meal on top of a fun event. Consider sticking to finger foods like tea sandwiches, fruit kabobs, and bite-sized desserts.

Drinks

Break out the bubbly! Have some fun with raspberry pink champagne floats or try something new with my “Sweet Dreams” recipe:
