The pina colada is a cocktail made with rum, cream of coconut, and pineapple juice, usually served either blended or shaken with ice. It’s traditionally garnished with a pineapple wedge.
The Pina Colada originated in the 19th century. It is said that Puerto Rican pirate Roberto Cofresí, gave his crew the cocktail that contained coconut, pineapple and white rum to boost their morale.
